With 50 years of history behind Banham Zoo and Africa Alive! They have sought to amaze and inspire guests over many years, providing wonderful and memorable days out for generations.  In itself this is a vital role, ensuring that there is quality time for family bonding and social interactions. 

With the creation of the charity – Zoological Society of East Anglia, it has meant that the organisation has needed to fulfil a greater purpose than just being a successful visitor attraction. As a charity, any surplus funds generated at the zoos are invested in our furthering their mission so it is important that everyone: visitor, supporter, the general public, understand the relationship between charity ZSEA and its zoos.

In 2019 Africa Alive! WON the Best Large Visitor Attraction at the Norfolk & Suffolk Tourism Awards.

In October 2019, the Directors and staff at Banham Zoo were absolutely ecstatic to have been named “The Best Animal Day Out in the Eastern Region” in the Day Out with the Kids Family Favourites Awards 2019.
